Creak.... Creak Creak....

"Then let's start with your names," came the reply from Ethan.

"I am Daren," came the reply from the man who had evidently set himself up as the spokesman of the group, without looking over at the others he continued, "the hurt girl is Karina and the man helping her is Jaison."

"I'd say nice to meet you, but I think that hardly applies in this situation," came Kaley's voice, finishing with, "but my name is Kaley and this is Ethan. I don't care if you mind me asking, so why the swords and shields? Why is she hurt? And what the heck were you running from?"

"Well, as I said before, Kaley, it's a long story, but I'll try and give you the cliff-notes version. Something flew into our car earlier, Kaley shooed it out a little more violently than I would have liked, our car broke down, when I checked under the hood I saw a...."

"Wait!" called Jaison, standing and listening carefully from where he was.

"What is it?" asked both Ethan and Daren.

"Shhhh," came the reply as Jaison stood very still, orienting his head in different ways to optimize his hearing ability and pinpoint what he was looking for. After a moment came his reply, "Can you not hear that?"

creak....

"Please tell me you heard that." asked Jaison as he looked at the others, though still keeping his head directly angled towards the back room.

"I do hear tha.... started Ethan.

creak creak....

"again!" exclaimed Daren as he ran towards the back room. As he ran he unsheathed his sword and gripped his shield tighter.

Creak!!....

"Assistance would be appreciated, Jaison!" yelled Daren as he smashed through the back door that seemed as though it was slowly buckling inwards, the creaks now obviously coming from the buckling wood."

"I'm on it!" replied Jaison, picking up his sword from where he had placed it to help Karina. Handing the shield to Ethan, he said "Hold this, protect the others, don't follow even if we call unless you see us," immediately turning around and dashing through the remnants of the door after Daren, "Watch your five, Daren!"

"What? Hey! What do I do with this?" came Ethan's voice after Jaison, holding the shield confusedly. Looking at the back of it, trying to put it on, he saw a strap to attach it to his arm and a bar to hold it for more force and deflection, but while he put it on he felt his finger brush a lever hidden in the handlebar on the back of the round shield. "What does this do? Why am I wearing this? I haven't felt so ridiculous since I was forced to participate in a duel at the renaissance festival back in high school."

Kaley looked over from where she had taken over helping Karina, "Look out Ethan!" she screamed, as something flew out of the back room.

Out of instinct, Ethan, spinning around and raising his shield, began yelling while he rushed the big black mass that had entered the front room, "Yahhhhh!" As he reached the mass he hit it with the shield, but all it did was embed the shield slightly in the writhing mass, and further instincts told him to click the lever he had felt, which made the shield vibrate slightly, at which point the entire mass moved with incredible speed back into its former room.

"What did y.... never mind, just keep doing it," came Kaley's voice from behind Ethan as he stayed where he was, facing the back door.

"If I can, I will," he replied.

"Why is it silent?"

The weak voice of Karina surprised them both, but not quite as much as they dead silence from the next room, the sounds of Daren and Jaison no longer reaching them, "careful, Ethan."

Slow footfalls echoed from the back room, to which Ethan addressed, "Jaison...? Daren...? Is that you?"

Greetings and Salutations,

I anticipate seeing what y'all will do about the Saturday posts, what videos and word usages you will pick before Saturday so I can actually include them in the post. Perhaps a suggestion for what to do next, though I already kind of have a good idea, maybe.

Until next time, lemme know what you think down there in the comment section, if you like it, ideas for what should happen next, etc.

Music Videos.... Unrated...

Greetings and Salutations,

And now we come to the part you've all been waiting for!

Except here's a problem, there is no part you've been waiting for, you were supposed to let me know what video you liked the best, but you didn't. Nobody did. Nobody rated any of them, nobody said what word they liked the most, nobody said what usage they liked the best, nothing. So the question stands, which do you like the best? If you don't like this then don't worry, if I don't hear any responses from people then Saturday posts as we know it will go kaput. If you like something, lemme know about that and perhaps your favorite video may win.

Since I'm a marginally good person I won't just leave you with the conundrum above and say goodbye, instead I'll leave you with a fairly cool video (that will not be included in the voting) and leave off the word choices until next week when I finally get all of your decisions, right?

So here's the video, it's by Tessa, also known as Meekakitty, who has become a very popular vlogger and singer on youtube, working closely with the bands "hey hi hello" and "Ministry of Magic." This is one of her songs with help from her friends Jason and Alex, called The Bacon Song.

Please don't forget to rate everything and have a great week,

Gas Stations Are Better Than Malls

A tall blond haired man stood just inside a Gas Station, signing off of his register and moving towards the door calling over his shoulder, "I'm gonna take a minute outside, Kaley, you have the store."

"Killing yourself some more? Whatever, do what you want, I won't have to deal with the lung cancer later, have fun out there Ethan," came the reply from the backroom, a beautiful young woman walking to take the recently vacated space by the register.

Chuckling to himself, Ethan opened the door and stepped out, enjoying the nice cool breeze and open air feeling not present in the concrete walled, windowless gas station behind him. Lighting his cigarette he slipped the lighter back into his pocket and waved farewell to the grocers and baggers leaving the grocery store across the street. Enjoying the last bit of his cigarette he felt the wind begin to pick up from up the road a bit, perhaps a storm setting in soon. As he placed his cigarette butt in the receptacle beside the door he heard what sounded like a scream from just up the road. Turning quickly around he gazed up the road and saw three people, a girl being assisted quickly by two boys as they ran as fast as they could towards the light of the shopping center behind Ethan. Taking a step forward both out of curiosity and a curious feeling of urgent need to assist them, Ethan opened his mouth to call to them, but the words never made it out of his mouth as he saw the dense cloud swiftly following them. Gasping in both awe and fear, a string of obscenities tumbled from his mouth, barely audible yet enough to catch the attention of all three people.

"Help us for goodness sake!" cried the girl right before she lost her footing in her running and twisted her ankle again, crying out in pain.

Hearing the hurt in her voice brought Ethan's mind back to the moment, where he quickly opened the door and yelled, "Kaley, be ready to duct tape the doors and barricade them in a moment."

"Why the heck should I do that, Ethan?" came Kaley's response, though moments too late as he had just ran to help the others with the hurt girl. "You better not be pulling something on me, it wouldn't be the first time," Came her resigned response to the empty room as she headed to the household tools section to grab some duct tape. As Kaley walked back to the front of the station she saw Ethan and two other men who inexplicably were holding swords hurriedly helping a stumbling girl into the station. Catching the emergency of the situation, Kaley joined Ethan in pulling a shelf unit towards the door as one man duct taped the cracks and the other eased the hurt girl to the floor. As she pushed the shelf all the way across the door she panted to Ethan, "I better be getting a good reasoning for this real soon."

"Same here," came his reply, and as the words came out of his mouth a great buzzing sound filled the building, at which point everyone fell to the ground and covered their ears, the sound becoming louder and growing in intensity by the moment. Suddenly, almost as quickly as it started, the noise stopped, silence quickly filling the room. Everyone nervously glanced around the room, their eyes searching shadows and ceilings for something to happen, though slowly they calmed down to their new situation.

"What the heck was that?!" came Kaley, standing up and confronting Ethan, "I need to know and I need to know now!"

"I wish I could tell you, but I know no more than you," at which point Ethan turned and gazed at the newcomers, still attempting to recover from the running and shock of it all, "What was that, tell us everything, you owe it to us."

"Well," replied one of the men, still catching his breath, "it's a long story..."

Greetings and Salutations,

And that's all for this week, I hopefully will be able to continue this as a weekly loop, and so far with my college and my preparing ahead for it I've been fine, but we'll see, until next time then, tell me how you like it so far and ideas for what should happen to them, etc.

As the Music Fades...

Greetings and Salutations,

I promised you a special video, "Next week I will give you the last song, which will have a special touch to it" forever ago and thought that as my Saturday post I'd actually do what I said I would. Gasp! Incredible! Anyways, Today I give you the final song video (so let me know in a comment down in the under-blog about which video/word you think is/was the best), so I am now accepting suggestions for either a different subject for the videos, or perhaps you would like me to continue doing music "videos." I do have quite a large retinue of good songs to give, but am also prepared for the other. So today's video comes from a fellow named Jonathan Davis, who occasionally gets around to writing music for the video games he develops. This is one of his first songs, named: "Anger Suite" for the in development game Renegades of Flame due to come out sometime within the next few years. Unfortunately, the music quality is not too high, the programs he works with are not the best for this style, and he's too poor to get the appropriate funding for that. So without further ado, here we go!

Well, nobody posted a word usage this week, so now what? do I continue with the original word until someone posts one following it? or do I give you a really easy one since maybe that was too hard for you, or, I know! I'll give you a ridiculously hard one to work with!

A Standardized Direction?

"Goodbye!" the young man yelled as he walked out of the house. His two friends, who were supposed to follow him, closed the door behind him soon after. "Great," came the voice of the man who had just left, looking through the window to see what the other two were doing. As he looked through, the young girl on the other side opened the door and both jumped in surprise. As they began walking away down the driveway to the car, letting the other man catch up when he was ready, they felt the darkness seemingly engulf them, the light escaping from chinks in the windows slowly fading, the moon above hidden by clouds, the street lights not functioning. The young girl shuddered as she left the last vestiges of light behind and clambered down alongside the young man. "What's wrong?" asked the man, thinking she had walked into a spiderweb or something similar.

"Sorry, I'm afraid of the dark," replied the girl, shuddering again.

Jokingly, the man replied in a Yoda-esque voice, "You should be..."

"What did you say?" came her reply, mildly amused yet slightly surprised by the change of voice. Behind them the door to the house opened and the final young man dashed after them, unlocking the car that the other two had almost reached, and throwing his stuff in, explaining that he had needed to say goodbye to the other friends and clean something first. As he opened his own door, the first young man noticed that something had flown into the car when the other man had opened his own door.

"I think you let a bug or something fly in when you opened your door, Daren." stated the first young man to the second.

"It's okay Jaison, I'll just roll down some of the windows and hopefully whatever flew in will fly out" he replied as he rolled down the two front windows. Unfortunately, the girl in the front passenger seat did not like the idea of something flying around and possibly getting in her hair, so she immediately started looking all around her for whatever had flown in. Spotting it she immediately started swatting it towards the open window beside her.

"Oh leave it alone Karina, it'll find its way out on its own," said Jaison, right as the bug, or whatever it was, flew out of the window, Daren rolling up the windows shortly after.

"Ouch," stated Karina as she looked at a little dark mark on the palm of her hand. "I didn't ever hit it, or at least I didn't feel it."

"Then why did you say ouch? Are you imagining things now?" asked Daren, kind of chuckling to himself now.

"Seriously!, Whatever it did it left a mark," retorted Karina, showing it to Jaison.

"Yeah, that's pretty strange," agreed Jaison, clearly seeing the dark mark, as Karina turned to show it to Daren, who was just then stopping at a light. "The light is green, you don't have to stop, Daren."

A puzzled look spread quickly across Daren's face as he replied, "Yeah, I know that, my foot is pressing the gas pedal to the floor."

"Well," Daren said, getting out of the car and popping the trunk, "Jaison, you grab my set of repair tools out of the trunk while I take a look under the hood. Karina, grab our backpacks from the car for me wouldya, I've had the car autolock and break the key hole before on a similar occasion as this." As Jaison brought Daren his tools he gently and carefully opened the hood of the car, a thin trail of smoke escaping from one of the oil testing pipes. "Let's see what we have here," Daren muttered, gripping the testing rod and removing it slowly, checking the length of it as he removed it."

"Why do you keep a veritable armory in your trunk?" asked Karina, gazing into the neatly strapped and organized weaponry, both classical and modern, that took up most of the space in the trunk of Daren's little sedan, but Daren was too engrossed with what he had just found attached to the end of the rod.

"Is that really a..." began Jaison, seeing the little shadowy shape seemingly impaled on the rod. "Karina, grab the two plainest looking swords and shields you see in the trunk but stay back there," was his immediate reply to the nod he had received from Daren.

"Why? what's happe..." She began but was interrupted by Jaison saying, "Just do it, and now," to which she obeyed, hearing the seriousness of the situation in the tone of his voice.

"The moment I set this down," said Daren, "run as fast as you can up the road; there is a gas station about half a mile away that will provide shelter."

"3,... 2,... 1,..." and with as much gentleness as could be performed with his shaking hands he set it on the ground and dashed as fast as he could up the road, slightly behind the other two who had been farther away. He picked up his backpack and a matching sword and shield as the ones Jaison already had on the way, and seeing Karina look behind her he said "Don't turn! Just keep running." It was too late however, for she had seen the monstrous shadow approaching, though it lent an additional strength to her running, as they dashed off towards shelter.

Woot! I'm back!... oh, yeah, um....

Greetings and Salutations,

As you may have noticed I am returning from a long summer hiatus, one which has proved useful in maintaining what little sanity I have left from the business of life, but I have missed this too much to leave forever. I'm going to be changing things around a little bit, first off: Saturday videos will be about the same. A video, a fancy word, and whatever else comes to mind for me to say or do, perhaps I'll add a link to a good webcomic, and maybe not. We'll just have to find out, now won't we?

About Wednesday posts though, I have several ideas, one that I know that I'm going to do, but I am probably going to switch off with the others as well. The main idea I have can be seen above, I've always wanted to do a traditional blog, you know, the ones where you tell what happened to you that day and what you thought about things, but my life is fairly average and too boring for most people to want to read. But I've also wanted to write fiction, though that is pretty hard for me to do also. So I recently decided I'd do both. Yes, the story above is taken from things that happened to me and my friends recently, though their names and mine have been changed and the way they act in the story does not necessarily reflect their actual feelings or actions (so don't get angry if you think you are one of the characters and something happens to them or they do something stupid). If it manages to become interesting it might start deciding its own path and leave my own life events to just be a story, but I'll let you know if that happens. I will also be doing my more standard Wednesday posts either on another day or switching off with the storyline, so don't worry that you won't get my long rants or obnoxiously detailed information anymore, it's still coming too.

Anyhoo, lemme know how you feel in the comment section (I need a name for that) and I anticipate seeing you Saturday (yes this counts as my Wednesday post, I just got a little ahead of myself). Hope I haven't chased all of you off with the long break, but it is all over now. Thanks to all my devoted fans and sorry for the wait, hope you aren't going to be disappointed with the new setup.
